Hey guys , this post is for those who looking for a SSN  in USA and hold a visa for work or study. I happen to get a SSN number from the social security office in Buffalo NewYork.

In US you need the social security number to get a job , open a bank account, social security benefits, and other government services.


Social security card  has nine digit social security number on it.
In this post I will explain how to get a ssn number from social security office.

First of all keep three things handy.

1)Passport(original)
2)I-94 form(you can get it online)
3)I-797 form(original)
4)Keep a local address and a phone number ready where you will be receiving your SSN number by post. You will have to give a address and a phone number at the ssn office.

Keep the other documents as well. Although the above mentioned documents are more than enough however carry all the other documents also.

Search for nearest social security offices in your city.

Best is to use Google maps.

You can get a Taxi or use bus transport.

If you prefer bus transport than please note down the bus-stops,bus details and routes to and fro 

The google maps details are quite accurate including the details related to public transports USA.

If possible make sure that you have google maps running on your mobile.

If travelling by bus than keep the change for one day pass.
